How do I search for parks?
You can search for parks in two main ways: using the map view to explore parks visually, or by using the search bar to look for parks by name, city, or general location (e.g., "Dane County"). You can also browse featured parks on the home screen.
How do the filters work?
The app offers over 30 filter options. You can filter parks based on available activities (like hiking, swimming, fishing), amenities (like playgrounds, restrooms, picnic areas), entrance fee requirements, and more. Simply tap on the filter header, select your desired criteria, and the park list will update accordingly.
How do I save a park to my favorites?
When viewing a park's details, you'll see a heart icon. Tap this icon to add the park to your favorites. You can access your list of favorite parks from the main navigation.
This feature stores data locally on your device. We do not collect or store this data and have no way to access it.
Do I need an account to use the app?
Currently there is no way to create an account. All functionality is available without creating an account.
Can I reserve a campsite through the app?
Currently there is no way to reserve a campsite through the app. We are exploring options for this in the future. Currently, when available we provide direct links to the park's website where you can make reservations.
Is the app free?
Yes, Family Park Finder is free to download and use. Some parks listed may have entrance fees or reservation costs, which are separate from the app itself.
